Meena lives in a small village in Bangladesh. Out of her family’s five daughters, she is the oldest. She aspires to enter a field with greater work opportunities for women. She intends to get admitted during the 2024–2025 nursing session. She has a lot of questions about nursing admission because she wants to know the specifics.
How many courses are there in Bangladesh?
Bangladesh government provides three nursing courses currently. The courses are
- B.Sc. in Nursing
- Diploma in Nursing Science
- Diploma in Midwifery
What are the differences between B.Sc. Nursing and DNSM courses?
The course B.Sc. (Nursing) stands for Bachelor of Nursing. The DNSM stands for Diploma in Midwifery and Nursing Science. While HSC passed commerce and arts group students mostly take the entrance exam for the Diploma in Nursing Science & Diploma in Midwifery, HSC passed science group students take the admission exam for the B.Sc. in Nursing.
What are the minimum qualifications to get admission in these courses?
To be admitted to the Diploma in Nursing Science and Diploma in Midwifery programs, candidates must have an individual GPA of 2.5 and a total SSC and HSC GPA of 6.00 from any group.
A GPA of 3.00 on its own and a cumulative GPA of 7.00 in the SSC and HSC are requirements for admission to the B.Sc. in Nursing program. Biology is also necessary.
Students must locate the nursing admission test circular and take the exam after their GPA has been confirmed.
Students who perform well on the admission exam will be admitted to the government nursing training center in accordance with BNMC regulations. Furthermore, only a very tiny portion of students will be placed on a district reservation.
Is there any age limitation for nursing admission test?
Yes, there was an age limit in the prior year’s nursing admissions circular. This year, Meena must visit the BNMC’s official website to learn about the age restriction. The circular will be made public after the entrance exams for BDS and MBBS. For the 2024 entrance, the previous three batches of HSC applicants took the nursing admission exam as well.
When the admission test will be conducted?
The MBBS and BDS admission tests are frequently followed by the nursing admission exam for medical and dental institutions. The date of the 2024–2025 nursing admission exam has not yet been set; the BNMC website will also be updated.
In the meantime, a new update states that the entrance exam for MBBS (2024–2025) will be held on January 17 and the BDS admission will be held on February 28.
